Players Came to Compete at the Blaze Billiard TourThe Blaze 9-Ball Tour’s Annual NYC Championships were held on August 24th and the players really came out to win. Several of the sixty one pool stars showed up to do their very best and proved they could outlast the other competitors. (28/08)
Max Eberle Wins Billiards Event in Orange, California
Danny K’s Billiards in Orange, California played host this past weekend to a billiards tournament. But this was not your ordinary billiards tournament; this event was a second rotation continuous double elimination pool tournament. (26/08)
Viking Cue Announces New Amateur-Advanced Division
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour recently announced they have created a new division for their tour. The Amateur-Advanced Division was created to pull together amateur players and advanced players to help guide each player toward tournament competition. The goal of the group is to help the players become professionals in the sport of billiards. (22/08)
USA Players Try to Win Back Title at 2008 Predator World Straight Pool Championship
The best of the best pool players from the United States will be competing in the upcoming 2008 Predator World Straight Pool Championship, trying to win back the title and possibly begin a new long record of consecutive wins. (20/08)
Johnny Archer Wins Turning Stone Classic XI
The Turning Stone Classic XI took place in Verona, New York at the Turning Stone Casino. One hundred and twenty eight players showed up to play in the $25,000 added nine ball event, but Johnny Archer made the most of the tournament and held on to the title. Archer won the event previously in February. (18/08)
Billy Tyler Wins Viking Championship Billiards Event
This past weekend, the Viking Cue Amateur 9-ball Tour held a $2,500 added National Championship Series in Atlanta, Georgia. The Series began on August 9th, with the Main Event kicking off on Saturday. The event was hosted by Mr. Cues II and had one hundred and six players vying for the top spot. (14/08)
Malta the New Home of Mosconi Cup
Barry Hearn, the chairman of Matchroom Sport’s, recently announced that the 2008 Mosconi Cup would be moving to the island of Malta, a European nation. This year’s Mosconi Cup is scheduled for December 11th through the 14th and will take place at the Hilton Hotel in the city of Portomaso in Malta. This will be the fifteenth Mosconi Cup to take place. (12/08)
Dennis Orcollo Winning Billiards Tournament
Yesterday, the Allen Hopkins Million dollar 9-ball tournament began with the best of the best billiards players vying for the top prize. The tournament is taking place at the Valley Forge Convention Center and will consist of six rounds of twenty five game matches. (08/08)
