2009 Derby City Classic Heads to Final Weekend
This weekend marks the final of the 2009 Derby City Classic in Indiana as the nine ball division has just over one hundred players left competing and the one-pocket division is down to six players. All will compete this weekend to see who can claim the first place finish.

Beginning today the nine ball division will begin to whittle down the players and a few final rounds of the straight pool challenge will take place as well. The one-pocket tournament players left to play are: Jeremy Jones, Jose Parica, Scott Frost, John Pinegar, John Schmidt and Robert Melrose. Parica and Schmidt are the only players who have their buy-back options left so they have to lose two matches to be eliminated from the competition.

Two players are believed to be a major contender for the title. John Brumback, the nine ball champion and John Pinegar who is unbeaten in nine ball. The competition is sure to be fierce this weekend as all players will be trying to stay alive to make it to the final match and hopefully taking the first place prize
