Darren Appleton Wins First Division of United States Bar Table ChampionshipsThe Sands Regency Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada recently hosted the first division of the sixteen annual United States Bar Table Championships. The event lasted one week and $24,500 was added to the prize pool. (27/02)
Yankees Baseball Team Enjoy a Billiards Break
Yankee players received a surprise on Monday when they showed up to team practice. Instead of beginning their usual workout, team manager Joe Girardi took the players to a local pool hall to enjoy a few games. More than sixty players loaded up on a bus and took off for the Tampa area pool hall. (24/02)
American Billiards Players Win Back Guinness World Record
In the Guinness Book of World Records there is a title of Longest Marathon Billiards Match that is held by players in Europe. Well not anymore, as two American players recently played a match and beat the record held the the European players. (20/02)
Brandon Shuff Wins Inaugural National Championship Series 8 Ball Championship
The inaugural National Championship Series 8 Ball Championship has come and gone and many competed for the top prize and first place title. But there could only be one winner and Brandon Shuff was able to hold on and take the victory. The Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas played host to the first ever event. (17/02)
Chuck Hill Wins Dominiak Cues Northeast Amateur 10-Ball Tour Stop
The second stop on the Dominiak Cues Northeast Amateur 10-Ball Tour took place on the 7th of February in Latham, New York. The event was hosted by the Diamond Eight Billiards and twenty eight players were competing for the top finish. (10/02)
World Summit of Pool Dates Announced by UPA
The 2009 Diamond World Summit of Pool dates have been announced by the United States Professional Pool players Association (UPA). The event is scheduled to take place in June 2009 at the Riviera Hotel and casino in Las Vegas (05/02)
National Collegiate 9-Ball Championship to be sponsored by Ozone Billiards
It was recently announced that Ozone Billiards will be the presenting sponsor for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) 2009 National Colligate 9-Ball Championship. Ozone will help students that play billiards participate in national tournaments as well as regional. (03/02)
