8-Ball Pro-Am Pool Tournament Coming In March
Ireland will be hosting their biggest 8-Ball Pro-Am Pool Tournament again this year starting Feb. 29th and going till March 2nd 2008. Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh will be the host and the prize pool will consist of £7,400 with £2,500 going to the winner.The small town of Co. Fermanagh has witnessed some of the absolute greats of the game over the years including Jason Twist, Willie Throne, Ross Mc Innes, Jimmy "Whirlwind" White, Darren Appleton and Carl Morris just to name a few of the champions that have played in this tournament.
This event gives all players, men, women and juniors, a chance to play with the all time greats. Friday, February 29th the will be tournaments organized for all player in the categories of under 16, under 19, men and ladies who have not yet qualified to play in the main event. These tournaments will give players one last chance to get in.
Among the top professional who have already confirmed to play are: 2007 world professional snooker championship runner-up and the 2006 world 8-Ball pool champion Mark Selby, Gareth Potts, current 2007 world champion, Mick Hill (2004 world champion), Pat Holtz (1996 world champion), Jason Twist (2000 & 2002 world champion) and Ross Mc Innes (multiple world champion)
Local Irish champions representing Ireland in this tournament will be, 2007 European 8-ball pool champion Stephen Dempsey, Tony Holegate, Ronan Mc Carthy and Pat O' Kane.
