American Billiards Players Win Back Guinness World Record
In the Guinness Book of World Records there is a title of Longest Marathon Billiards Match that is held by players in Europe. Well not anymore, as two American players recently played a match and beat the record held the the European players. Brian Lilley and Daniel Maloney began playing their World Record match on October 12th of last year and continued playing pool for fifty two hours at the VFW Post 9103. The record is now official as Guinness Officials had to take the last few months and review the footage of game play.
The two men had to play continuously but were allowed five minute breaks e3very hour to drink, eat or go to the bathroom. Both men decided to take breaks when they were really tired so they ended up taking six five minute breaks and one fifteen minute break. Both players drank water, bananas, and other snacks to keep up their energy.
During game play a nurse had to be standing watch and two independent witnesses were on hand to view the players. The two players found out via email that they were accepted into the book of World Records and an official from Guinness has stated the pair will receive a confirmation letter and certificate soon.
