Arturo Reyes wins Tri-State Tour Queens Stop
On January 4th the Tri-State Tour stopped in Queens, New York for a $1,000 added B-D handicapped event. The tournament had thirty one participants vying for the title win. Arturo Reyes was able to play well throughout the competition and win the tournament.

Reyes worked his way to the hot seat match by beating Mike Panzarella 7-2 and Chris Luethi 7-3 in the final four on the winner’s side. Luethi was hot off his win over Emily Duddy 7-5 but couldn’t pull off a win against Reyes.

On the one loss side Jose Cruz and David Jusis were the main contenders. Both had won over two other competitors to then face Panzarella and Duddy who were sent over from the winner’s side. Panzarella beat Cruz 7-3 and Duddy outplayed Jusis to move on to the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals Panzarella remained on a winning streak beating Duddy 7-6 but fell short when up against Luethi, who won their match 7-5. During the finals Luethi had to reach seven wins to extend the matchup to nine games. Reyes was up 5-2 before Luethi came back to tie it up. But that would be as close as Luethi would get as Reyes got the next two racks and the win.
