August 1st and 2nd saw the Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour stop in Goldsboro, North Carolina at Fast Eddie’s Billiards for a $1,000 added event. Thirty players registered for the event and it was B.J. Ussery who came out on top as the first place winner.

Ussery had an easy time getting to the Hot Seat as he defeated several opponents including Sam Monday who would have gotten the hot seat if he could have gotten past Ussery, but it was not to be. On the one loss side Cary Dunn was doing very well beating Ronnie Wiseman 7-4 and Eddie Little 7-5 before he faced Earl Strickland. Dunn beat Strickland and then faced Jeff Abernathy who won the match and went to face Ussery in the Semis.

Ussery won that match 7-3 and then faced Monday again for the finals. The finals was a single race to nine final set and Ussery got the first two wins and Monday then came back and gained the lead 3-2 then 4-3. The pair traded being on top until Ussery took over and earned the win with a score of 9-6.
