Daniel McKinney Wins Great Southern Billiard Tour Stop
The Great Southern Billiard Tour stopped this past weekend in Mobile, Alabama to host a $1,000 added A/B amateur event. The event only drew 23 players as the Crimson Tide had just won the SEC championship game and Alabamians were still celebrating. In the end Daniel McKinney was able to win his second Great Southern Billiard Tour Title. McKinney gained the hot seat match after he beat John Macias 9-7. Over on the one loss side Stacy Toomer and Justin Ledford faced each other. Ledford beat Toomer and then faced John Jones. In the meantime Guy Devaney was making his way through the field as well.
Devaney eventually made it to the finals to face McKinney. McKinney does not have much tournament experience but he was able to finish on top in the first set of the double elimination match. The score ended in a 7-7 tie and the game came down to the final set. McKinney was able to take advantage of some of Devaney’s early misses and then earn the win.
Final Results:
1st Daniel McKinney $600
2nd Guy Devaney $400
3rd John Macias $200
4th John Jones $100
5th Justin Ledford $45
