Dawn Fox Wins MALT’s Indiana State Women’s Championship
This Fourth of July weekend fourteen women came to O’Brian’s Sports Bar and Grill in Evansville, Indiana to compete in the MALT’s Indiana State Women’s championship. The $1,000 added event was a WPBA qualifier for the 2009 WPBA U.S. Open and it was Dawn Fox who came away with the win.

By Sunday Fox had worked her way through the competition to face Andoni who she beat 9-5. At the same time Charlene Chai beat Tina Hess 9-7. Samantha Patton worked hard when she was moved to the one loss side to take out Borana Andoni in fifth place with a score of 9-8 and Julie Comitini knocked out Hess 9-7 while Comitini beat Patton 9-4.

Comitini knocked Chai out in third to then face Fox in the finals. Fox committed a technical foul and gave Comitini the edge and a run by Comitini put Fox on the hill 10-7. But then Comitini missed the 9 ball in the next rack and Fox came back to win three racks to win the set and the tournament.
