On Saturday a field of twenty seven players competed for the first place prize of the Tri-State Tour stop in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event was hosted by Castle Billiards and was a $500-added, B-D handicapped tournament.

On the winners side during the final four Dennis Petrillo and Ron Mason advanced after Petrillo beat Alex Borukhovich 6-4 and Mason beat John Trobiano 7-5. Mason and Petrillo would then face each other in the hot seat match.

Mason bested Petrillo with a 6-2 win and advanced to the finals. Petrillo was sent to the semifinals. During the same time period, Pete Brennan was working his way to the semifinals as well. He bested three opponents, Jan Aleria, George Osipovich and Borukhovich to move up to the quarterfinal match against Chris Taormina. Brennan won the match up 7-4 and moved on to face Petrillo.

Petrillo wanted a rematch against Mason so he beat Brennan sending him home in third place. Petrillo then faced Mason once again. Petrillo would get the better of Mason this time and win the tournament match up 8-3.
