The Horseshoe Casino in Elizabeth, Indiana played host to the Derby City Banks billiards tournament and it was an amazing turnout of 404 players. In the end it was John Morra of Canada who earned the victory after taking down Shane Van Boening in the finals.

The last day of the competition started with twelve players left. It would take a few rounds but then only three would remain. John Morra, Brandon Shuff and Shane Van Boening were the remaining players vying for the title win.

A draw took place and Morra would advance to the finals while Van Boening and Shuff would play off to see who would advance. In the end, Van Boening would earn the final shot and would then face off against Morra.

In the first set of finals, Van Boening would earn the win. The second final had Morra off to a great start and Van Boening would make a mistake that would prove crucial in the competition. Morra would earn a 2-0 lead and Van Boening would fight back but it would not be enough to win the tournament.

The tournament was very exciting for all involved especially those watching as the action unfolded. Morra was able to pull off a great win and those in attendance were able to watch a great show!
