Dragon Promotions Event Becomes Sanctioned by WPA
It was recently announced that the upcoming Dragon Promotion’s Event is now sanctioned by the World Pool Billiard Association as the WPA Women’s World 10-Ball Championship. The sanctioning of the event establishes another women’s event in the WPA and also helps the international program for women. The addition of this event creates five major events for women this year. The first will take place in Taiwan in April, followed by an event in Manila in May, another event in Manila in June, Shanghai in June and then the Women’s World 9 ball championship in China this September.
The President of the WPA, Ian Anderson commented on the decision: “I am very pleased that we were able to sanction this event. It is a great boost for women’s pool, and will help with the establishment of the Ranking List for women, just the same as has been introduced this year for men. We certainly appreciate the efforts of Dragon Promotions through their two principles, Charlie Williams and Cindy Lee, for the earnest effort they are putting into women’s pool.”
President of Dragon Promotions, Cindy Lee commented: “We at Dragon Promotions appreciate the hard work put forth by both entities in making this into a sanctioned event. This was truly a step in the right direction in helping Billiards grow in these tough times.”
