The WPBA Masters took place just a few days ago at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and it was Allison Fisher and Ewa Mataya Laurance who made it to the finals of the competition. It was a close race but in the end it was Laurance who was able to come up with the first place win.

In the finals, Laurance took the lead early with a score of 2-1. The finals were a race to 7 and many felt as though Fisher had it in the bag. Fisher would be down 5-1 before staging a comeback. Fisher would come back 5-2, then 5-3 and then 5-4 and finally the match was tied at 5-5.

The match was very exciting at this point and players were able to watch the event as it was televised. So not only were the fans in attendance excited about the event but those watching at home were as well.

When the match started after the score was tied 5-5, Allison was up to break, which made Laurance nervous. However, Laurance pulled it together and managed to win the next two frames to earn the first place win the $10,000 first place prize. Laurance is the first player to win the WPBA event for the New Year!
