Fourteen Year Old Wins J. Pechauer Tour Stop
The J. Pechauer Northeast Women’s Tour stopped recently in East Rutherford, New Jersey for a $1,500 added event. twenty three women competed in the tour but it was fourteen year old Briana Miller who walked away with the win after remaining undefeated during the competition.

Castle Billiards in East Rutherford hosted the competition and the winner would receive a seat for the 2009 WPA Women’s World Championship in China. During the competition, Miller beat WPBA player Fran Crimi 7-3 to earn the hot seat match. Erin McManus played Miller in the hot seat match. McManus was sent to the one loss side after Miller won four sets.

Over on the one loss side Brenda Heras beat Supadra Boonpasook 7-6 to move on and face Colleen Shoop. Ji-Hyun Park Thompson won over Gail Glazebrook to then face Olga Gashkova. Heraas and Park Thompson moved on to face Crimi and Smith. Heras passed Crimi and Park Thompson was knocked out by Smith. Heras would be eliminated in the quarterfinal match by Smith. Smith would then meet McManus in the semifinals. McManus was victorious and would get her rematch with Miller.

In the final McManus had to reach seven games first to extend the race to have a chance to win. However Miller was on a roll and got to seven games first and clinched the win. Miller will move on to Nicaragua in November to represent the US in the WPA Junior World 9-Ball Championship so she gave the Women’s Worlds invite to McManus.
