Professional billiards player Johnny Archer was recently announced as the top player on the Billiard Congress of America rankings. Archer takes over the top spot as the 2009 season of pool and billiards comes to a close.

Ralf Souquet was in first place but Archer’s victory at the Turning Stone Classic XIV gave him the top spot on the list. So as the New Year approaches, Archer will be the man to move on the BCA rankings. Archer’s previous win’s helped him move in the rankings to earn the top spot.

In November he won two events. First was the Steve Mizerak Championship and then Archer won the U.S. 10-Ball Invitational in the last part of the month. Archer has had a very productive year with his wins and now the top spot on the rankings.
Back in October Archer was inducted into the Billiard Congress of America’s Hall of Fame. This induction took place during the U.S. Open 9-ball Championships.

Archer also participated in the PartyPoker Mosconi Cup in December. During this time Archer was part of Team USA and helped them earn back the Cup for America.
