Junior Billiards Champions to Represent United States Announced
The Junior Billiards Champions who will be representing the United States in the 2008 World Pool Billiard Association Junior World 9-Ball Championships were recently announced by the Billiard Education Foundation. Nine players were chosen to represent the United States in Reno, Nevada during the Championships.

The Championships are set to take place on November 30th through December 3rd at the Sands Regency Hotel. The Billiard Congress of America set up the event at the hotel. The girls and boys divisions will see over fifty players from six different continents and over twenty countries competing for the top honor.

The nine junior players earned their spot in the Championship by their performance in the 2008 Billiards Education Foundation Junior Nationals. All players have showed great skill and should do well in the Championships. They are as follows:

--Austin Murphy of Folsom, CA – 2008 BEF Junior Nationals Champion, 19-and-under boys’ division
--Landon Shuffett of Greensburg, KY – 2008 BEF Junior Nationals Champion, 14-and-under boys’ division
--Allison Hardwick of Evansville, IN- 2008 BEF Junior Nationals Champion, 19-and-under girls’ division
--Briana Miller of Allentown, PA – 2008 BEF Junior Nationals Champion, 14-and-under girls’ division
--Nick Tafoya of Albuquerque, NM- 2008 Junior Nationals, runner up, 19-and-under boys’ division
--Chelsea Hardwick of Evansville, IN-2008 Junior Nationals, runner up, 19-and-under girls’ division
--Billy Thorpe of Dayton, OH -2008 Junior Nationals, runner up, 14-and-under boys’ division
--Richard Barney of Hagerstown, MD- 2008 Junior Nationals, third place, 19-and-under boys’ division
--Chuckie Holyoke of Mt Vernon, WA-2008 Junior Nationals, fourth place, 19-and-under boys’ division
