Rocky Mount, North Carolina was the place to be if you wanted to see the Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour take place. The event was held September 6th and 7th and had twenty six players in contention for first place. The event was a $1,000 added and took place at Sharks-N-Shooters.

The event saw a smaller turnout to the tournament since Hurricane Gustaf was a major threat in the area. There were five junior players competing in the event a few well known players. During the first round Ty Griffin managed to beat Wade Crane with a 7-1 score while Stephen Bishop, a local player, bested Mike “Iron Man” Davis during the second round.

Larry Nevel was an extreme threat as he leveled the playing field against his competitors. Nevel bested Chris Vollmar 7-0, and then moved on to beat Delton Howard 7-5 and Cary Dunn 7-2. Nevel would then go against Michael Fuller double-hill before Fuller would move to the west side of the playing chart. Nevel then moved on to the hot seat match against Jeff Abernathy. Jeff would prove to be competition for Nevel, beating him, for Nevel’s only loss of the tournament.

In the meantime, Cary Dunn had made it to the semifinal match by beating Sam Monday. Set against Nevel, Dunn did not stand a chance as Nevel finished the match 7-2. Nevel then moved back to face Abernathy in the final and managed to beat him 9-4.
