Max Eberle Wins Billiards Event in Orange, California
Danny K’s Billiards in Orange, California played host this past weekend to a billiards tournament. But this was not your ordinary billiards tournament; this event was a second rotation continuous double elimination pool tournament.

The object of this event was to get to 100 points on the winners side and 75 points on the one-loss side. The continuous rotation was played like a rotation. Each player comes to the pool table with a cue ball and each ball counts for one point. Shooters who make a ball on the break get the cue ball in hand and no safeties are allowed.

This past weekend, thirty two players entered the tournament including some national pros and local favorites. A few participating were: Ernesto Dominguez, Tang Hoa, David Hemmeh, Oscar Dominguez, Max Eberle and Jose Parica.

Erberle and Parica played on Sunday in the winners semifinals. The two were tied at 75 points and Parica had the chance to make a move when Eberle scratched the ball, but Parica gave the shot back to Eberle, who then ran the table.

Hoa then played against Parica, who moved to the one-loss side after Erberle won the match. Parica barely won against Hoa when he went on a run of 11 balls. However, Hoa missed the 8 ball and Parica had more points and moved on.

Eberle went on to play Dominguez for the win and came out on top 100-54 after Dominguez had a hard time on the break. Eberle was quoted as saying “Rotation continuous may just be my new favorite game. I’ve always loved rotation and this is a great way to bring it into an exciting and highly playable format. It’s an awesome test of skill and focus, and this may well be the game of the future.”
