Mika Immonen Wins Joss Northeast 9-Ball New Jersey Stop
The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour has completed another stop on the tour and Mika “Iceman” Immonen outlasted the field of thirty seven players to win the first place prize. The competitors played during a snowstorm in Parsippany, New Jersey at Comet Billiards. The tournament was a $2,000 added event. When play got down to the final four on the winners side Marc Vidal beat Dave Grau 9-6 and Tom McGonagle 9-4 to move on to the finals. McGonagle had sent Peter Nielsen to the one loss side earlier in the day.
At the same time Mika Immonen was working his way through the one loss side. Mika beat Mike Miler 9-5 then Mike Badsteubner 9-4 to face Nielsen who was sent over by McGonagle. Mika won the matchup 9-5 and moved into the quarter finals.
Bucky Souvanthong won over Jason Michas and Bob Blackmore to then meet Dave Grau who was sent to the one loss side by Vidal. Grau would win the match 9-7 and then face Mika in the quarter finals. Mika won the match and moved on to the semi finals against McGonagle.
Mika won the match 9-3 and then faced Marc Vidal in the finals. The finals were double elimination and Mika had to win two. Both sets were won by Mika 9-3 for the first place win.
