Mike Conway Jr. Wins $1,500-added amateur event
Sixty players showed up at Q-Master Billiards in Virginia Beach, Virginia to participate in a $1,500 added amateur event on February 4th and 5th. The players were ready to compete and it would be Mike Conway Jr. who rallied from behind to earn the first place win.

Conway Jr. earned a first round loss when he faced Dwight Cherry and Cherry managed to remain undefeated in the competition to make the winners side final four. However it was then that Chris Futrell knocked him to the one loss side with a score of 11-7.

John Mitchelltree defeated Cheryl Pritchard 9-5 to advance to face Futrell in the hot seat match and Mitchelltree managed to win this match 9-10 to make the finals. Conway Jr. then faced Cherry and defeated him 9-7 as Justin Spires lost to Pritchard 6-6 and finished in fifth with Cherry.

Pritchard then faced Conway Jr. and lost 9-3 and ended up in fourth place. Conway Jr. then faced Futrell and won 9-10 and advanced to the finals. The finals were a double elimination match and Mitchelltree was winning but then Conway Jr. was able to win the first and second set to earn the tournament victory.
