Mike Davis Wins 46th Reno Open Billiards Tournament
Over one hundred and sixty seven players entered the 46th Reno Open to try their luck at winning the $15,000 first place prize. The event took place in Reno, Nevada and Mike “Iron Man” Davis outlasted the field and took the title win. By Saturday night the field was narrowing down. Leonardo Andam was up against Stan Tourangeau and Steve Moore was against Corey Deuel late in the night with Andam and Moore coming out on top. When Sunday came only two players were left undefeated, Ernesto Dominguez and Mike Davis.
Both went head to head in the hot seat match, play was tough but Davis won the match 9-7. Andam and Moore would face each other in the quarter finals keeping it tied all the way until Andam managed to win double-hill and put Moore out in fourth place.
Andam would then face Dominguez where Andam would keep his consistency and win 9-5. This put Andam in the finals with Mike Davis. When play began the matchup remained tied until it was 2-2. Andam went on a spree and pulled ahead 7-2. But Davis would not be outdone and went on a 7 rack spree and took the next two to win the match up and the title.
