Naomi Williams Wins WBPA Qualifier
The Dakota Sports Club in Barrie, Ontario held a Tiger Canadian Women’s Pool Tour event on September 6th and 7th with a $1,000 added prize purse. The winner also would receive a qualifier to the WPBA. Naomi Williams was able to outlast the field of competitive women and take the prize as well as the WPBA qualifier.

On the second day of the event, six players came back to compete. Naomi Williams, Denise Belanger, Darlene Gardiner, Sharlene Watkinson, Veronique Menard and Corrine Johnson were back to try and win the title.

During the hot seat match Menard managed to push out Williams. On the other side of the bracket, Belanger eliminated Johnson while Gardiner took out Watkinson. Belanger and Gardiner would face each other next and Gardiner would advance to the semi final match.

Gardiner then went on to face Williams in the semi final match. Gardiner played well but she was not match for Williams who kept shooting 9 ball combos and safeties. Williams would then move on the double elimination finals against Menard.

Williams would begin the competition leading 4-0 but Menard would win the next two games in a row. Williams would then win the next three after a couple of run-outs and won the first set 7-2. Williams then won the second set 7-3 claiming the win and the WPBA qualifier.
