The National Wheelchair Players Association National Championships took place this past weekend in Brea, California. Players came from all over to compete in the event and hopefully win the first place prize. The event was hosted by Diamond Billiards and was a $7,500 added tournament. Aaron Aragon and Matt Duffy were working the final four on the winner’s side as they defeated Bob Calderon and Charles Interrante and sent them to the one loss side. Aragon and Duffy would then face each other for the hot seat position and Aragon won 9-6 sending Duffy to the one loss side.
Bill Frisby and Terry Guess were the driving force on the one loss side after beating Ken Force 7-5 and Joe Hardy 7-1, respectively. Frisby also beat Interrante to move on to the quarter finals while Calderon beat Guess 7-1 to move on as well.
