Scott Simonetti Wins Tri-State Billiard Stop in Queens
Twenty eight players participated in the Tri-State Billiard tour stop in Queens this past weekend. The $500 added event took place on November 29th at the Break, Bar and Billiards in Astoria. Scott Simonetti outlasted the field and held up during two hill-hill challenges to win the first place prize. The first double hill challenge for Simonetti was against Danny Cintron. Cintron was hoping to take his four win on the tour but could not beat Simonetti who moved on to face Aja Cycak. Aja had just beat Tony Iglesias in a hill-hill match and took a lead 3-0 against Simonetti. Aja got two more racks before Simonetti would take the lead and win 8-5.
On the one loss side, Adam Kosmin and Arturo Reyes would face each other in the quarter finals. Kosmin won 8-6 and moved on to face Cycak, after her loss to Simonetti. Kosmin won the match 8-3 and went on to face Simonetti in the finals.
