The Great Southern Billiard Tour recently made a stop in Sanford, North Carolina at the Speakeazy billiards to hold a $1,500 added A/B amateur event. The event drew a playing field of 74 players and it was Sean Davis who went undefeated in the competition to take the top spot.

Davis earned the hot seat match after defeating Brad Shearer and then facing Sam Monday. It would be when he defeated Monday that he would earn the hot seat. All there was now to do was wait for his next opponent.

Over on the one-loss side, Scott Lewis lost to Danny Crouch 7-7. At the same time Danny Mastermaker won over David Brown 7-6 and then a win over Barry Mashburn 7-4. Mastermaker then fell to J.R. Poste who then moved on to face Crouch in the quarter finals.

Crouch held on and defeated Poste which moved him to the semis against Monday. The score was tied 4-4 when Monday took the lead and ran with it winning the match 11-4. Then it was Monday against Davis in the finals. Monday took a 2-0 lead but Davis came back at 2 and then earned 4. Monday would respond and come back up with 6-4 but he would get no further. Davis would come back and win the match up and remain undefeated in the process.
